Hi, I'm Victoria. I'm kind of nerdish and I like fonts.
I'm also an award-winning digital communications specialist working for ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas, the largest elevator company in the western hemisphere.
But it's a title that leaves a lot up for interpretation — so what do I even do? Basically, I've cultivated skills in graphic design, social media, copywriting and editing, analytics, and communications strategy — and I wear all those hats daily. I like that my day-to-day work is never the same; it keeps me on my toes and helps me to become a more well-rounded professional. In my eight years of varied experience in the marketing realm (as well as my training in design and journalism at Iowa State University), I've created a pretty substantial amount of innovative deliverables and collaborated with some exceedingly talented individuals — not to mention guzzled through my fair share of coffee and Diet Coke!
My work varies depending on the challenges set before me. However, I do carry a unique flair from one project to another. I refuse to procrastinate and I'm a perfectionist by nature, so I quickly and efficiently polish each project until it meets my high personal standards. I am extremely detail-oriented and am known to spot things like an extra space between two words or a line ending a couple pixels short of where it should.
When I'm not in front of the computer, I can be found running (I've got two marathons under my belt so far), sewing, or walking my three dogs.
I also draw photorealistic portraits. I've displayed my artwork in the State Fair of Texas and the Iowa State Fair for the past ten years, receiving two Honorable Mentions in 2013, Honorable Mention in 2012, 2nd Place in 2011, a Merit Award in 2010, Honorable Mention in 2008, a People's Choice Award in 2006, and Best of Show for a contest in 2004.
